For students whose first language is not English, documentary evidence of competence in both written and spoken English must be provided. This normally takes the form of results in an IELTS band 5.5 or TOEFL not less than 500 (paper-based), or 173 (computer-based), or 61 (internet-based) or CMU-eTEGS except for 65 within two years of applying.
